Lockdown Perspective

South Africa went into lockdown in March and we welcomed the decision in an effort to flatten the curve of COVID 19 infections. In the early, I was excited to spend uninterrupted time with my family and do things we hardly get to do. We got to do chores, learn new skills, communicate deeply, and just spend time doing nothing. We have now progressed to level 4 of lockdown and while I was baking my daughter’s birthday cake, I suddenly realized that perhaps all the time I thought I was busy, I was busy with unimportant things disguised as important. Routine and being on autopilot mode of everyday life, got me thinking that I don’t have time to do other activities like baking a birthday cake? I must tell you, the cake tasted amazing and we have made a decision as a family that we will bake birthday cakes for all of us going forward.

As a family, we have realized the pleasure of immersing ourselves in small acts of love. Our personalities and capabilities have been expanded in surprising ways. As a mom, my heart is so full to see my children appreciate the effort we put together as a family to make this difficult time into a memorable time ever.

Whilst some have the privilege to be at home, working, studying, other people are not as privileged and it is the reality of the situation. As a nation, we are coming together to help in any way we can. Life is not normal anymore and we are being stretched as human beings, for the first time in history, we are not in control or free to do as we please.

In the mornings I spend quite a time reading the word of God and today I was reading from the First 5 app, one sentence stood out for me that says: “The temple is to be built in a place known for sacrifice and mercy, for refinement and redemption“. I immediately realized how during this uncertain time we are being refined, whether we are aware or not. We are all sacrificing things, and by sacrificing we are learning to let go and to surrender and trust. There is a purpose to this season, yes it is difficult and we are losing loved ones in the process, but there is a higher purpose and greater good. Take each day as it comes and trust in the highest power.

So go ahead and bake that delicious chocolate cake and savour the little pleasures around you.

“Pass Over” – Festival of Unleavened Bread

Hello Circle,

With everything happening around the world, it is not business as usual. We are all being called to remain in our homes, whilst we are home let us practice being calm. I want to share with you what I experienced on Monday during prayer time. I was feeling anxious with all the news around us and I asked God what this season is teaching us. when I was done praying, I picked up my Bible and I was on Luke 22 and the verse that I took note of is ‘The Last Supper.’ Jesus said, “Go and prepare the Passover meal, so we can eat it together.” As we read on it says, “This wine is the token of God’s new covenant to save you – an agreement sealed with the blood I will pour out for you.”

when I was done reading, I was ready to put my Bible away and I finger landed on Exodus 12 and it reads, “The First Passover.” I’d like to encourage you to read it when you have time. “When I see the blood, I will pass over you. This plague of death will not touch you when I strike the land of Egypt.”

I am a believer and in times like these I go to my creator for help and his word guides us. We need to take this time and take the journey inwards and build a personal relationship with God. It is time to listen, not talk. Pray for protection over your family and everyone so that you can emerge out a new person ready to pursue the dreams God has in store for you. We are Victorious.

“Be Still and know that I am God”

Hello and Welcome

Welcome to my updated website and a new blog. This is a journey of transformation and living life whole, content and fulfilled. I’m a believer, married with three gorgeous children. I love spending time outdoors and eating good food.

I hope you will enjoy, learn, grow as we engage and journey together on how to live a wholesome life and achieve divine fulfilment. We embrace the Mind, Body, and Soul to be in alignment and remain authentic to our selves.

The past three and half years have taken me on a journey of pursuing a wholesome lifestyle, spending time with my soul and listening to what it yearns for. There were moments of tears, joy, laughter, pain and learning to accept me as God originally created me. Two things are evident in my journey of growth and transformation, it is to:

Teach + Create

I have always loved to empower and see other people thrive in life. I’m also a creative person who enjoys the thrill of a new idea coming to life.

As you’re aware, I’ve just released my very first book, a spiritual memoir, called: Be Still and I’ve decided to make it the theme for 2020 as I believe we need to learn to be still in order to listen to the voice within. I will be writing about what that means for your mind, body, and soul.
